Bhilai. The Under-23 cricket competition was inaugurated on Thursday. A three-day match between Mahasamund and Rajnandgaon started in the city. In this, Mahasamund played an innings of about three hundred and fifty runs. At the same time, a total of three teams from Durg district are participating in the clashes in Raipur, Dallirajhara and Kanker.
Under-23 Inter District Elite Group Cricket Competition is being organized by Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association (CSCS) at Kalyan Mahavidyalaya Ground in Sector-7. In the three day match between Rajnandgaon and Mahasamund, Mahasamund’s team won the toss and decided to bat first. Playing first, Mahasamund was all out after scoring 272 runs in the first innings. Batting in this innings of Mahasamund, Daya Shankar scored 54 runs while playing an unbeaten half-century. Similarly, Shobhit Sharma and Anurag Sahu also scored 57 and 50 runs respectively in their half-centuries. Prashant added 37 runs for the team. Arin Dwivedi took four wickets for Rajnandgaon in this innings. Neeraj Yadav took three and Naman Agarwal took two wickets. Today the team of Rajnandgaon will play their first innings on the second day of the match.
As part of the competition, in the T-Tur between Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) and Plate Combined in Kanker, Combined won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, BSP scored 264 runs in the first innings. Batting in this innings of BSP, the first player scored 111 runs while playing a century. Prince Khan added 74 runs in his half-century. While Dev Aditya Singh scored 33 not out. In this innings, Prabhat Anand took six wickets for Plate Combined. Playing their first innings, Plate Combined scored 111 runs for the loss of six wickets till the end of the day’s play. Abdul Anas Khan scored 23 not out, Prabhat Anand 22, Shashank Netam scored 16 not out in the innings. Mahendra Chelak of BSP took two wickets in this innings.
